In response to the on-going teacher shortage in the US, particularly in the State of California, we are embarking on an ambitious project to recruit teachers in the Philippines to fill American classrooms.

Over the years, Filipino professionals in the United States have heralded their accomplishments in the field of medicine, nursing, engineering, technology and finance; education will not be far behind.

Los Angeles Times - August 10, 2002

The New Import: Teachers

First it was nurses. Now recruiters are tapping the Philippines to help fill a void in American classrooms.

With school districts needing to hire 200,000 teachers a year to stem a national shortage, private recruiters plan to place at least 15,000 foreign teachers in American classrooms over the next five years.

Legacy Resources will be conducting information sessions in the Philippines  and accept résumé from applicants who are fully-credentialed by authorized agency in the country. We are in search of teachers with the following qualifications:

  • Five years or more classroom experience,

  • Excels in mathematics, in physical sciences and in computer science, and

  • Good command of the English language.

Our interview process will be rigorous to ensure that only résumé from those who are committed to the profession and eager to make a difference will be submitted to school districts for evaluation.

After our initial screening, school district recruiters will be invited to visit the Philippines and be given an opportunity to conduct personal interviews before offer of employments are made.

If you are committed to the profession and ready to leave a legacy, submit your application now!

Erlinda B. Baylon

Director

A historic turnover in the teaching profession is on the way. More than a million veteran teachers are nearing retirement. America will need two million new teachers in the next decade, and experts predict that half the teachers who will be in public school classrooms 10 years from now have not yet been hired.
